Supporting Participation: Sensory Processing Strategies for Daily Routines

Discover how sensory processing shapes a child’s daily life and how to turn potential barriers into opportunities for growth. While this session builds on insights shared by occupational therapist Sara Zielinski in May, you don’t need to have attended the earlier webinar this event stands on its own and will bring you up to speed.

We’ll explore how sensory differences can impact participation and, more importantly, how to bridge those gaps. You’ll leave with practical, ready-to-use strategies to spark engagement, encourage skill growth, and foster joyful, positive interactions at home, in the community, and everywhere in between. This is your chance to gain fresh tools and inspiration to help every child thrive.

More from our presenter Sara Zielinski:

I have been a pediatric occupational therapist for 18 years, working in early intervention, school, and clinic settings. I am the Director of Occupational Therapy Services at HLC Therapy Group, and provide consultant services as well. I am a disability advocate, and have completed programs through ICDD (Partners in Policymaking) and a fellowship at UIC (LEND) to further my advocacy leadership skills. As a pediatric occupational therapist, I am part of an interdisciplinary team for autism diagnostics, certified in ADOS-2 administration. I hold my Basic Certification in DIRfloortime, and will be pursuing the next level of certification. I specialize in working with autistic children and their families. I work with all clients through a neurodiversity affirming, and strengths-based approach. I currently work with clients in school, clinic, and aquatic based settings.

Early Intervention Credits:  TBD

(please note credit is currently unavailable for states outside of Illinois)

This training is open to all Early Intervention Providers and Service Coordinators

There will be a free reflective practice session offered after the webinar for all IDTA Members ONLY. This will require a separate registration.

Please note, a strict no cancellation policy will be enforced for all IDTA webinars
