This rate is valid for groups of 10, each registration after that will be the standard rate of $30 per registrant. If you have multiple groups of ten you can utilize the registration code for this as well.

Early Intervention- Current Problems, Legal Rights, Family Advocacy, and Possible Solutions

In this training you will learn about common legal issues that arise for families in the early intervention system and how they can be proactively addressed.  You will learn about the basic legal rights of families in early intervention and the conflict resolution options families can use if they are experiencing problems. Finally, we will discuss how to create better outcomes for families, including when and why families should consider filing complaints, how Equip for Equality can help, and possible improvements in the early intervention system.


 More about Peter Eatherton:

Peter Eatherton is a Staff Attorney in Equip for Equality’s Special Education Clinic.  Peter counsels and represents families in special education related matters, including negotiations and adversarial proceedings.  Peter also provides training to law firms, parent groups, and other organizations on special education law and advocacy and Early Intervention advocacy.  Prior to joining EFE, Peter was an associate with the law firm Sidley Austin LLP.  Peter was also a history teacher at Glenbrook North High School and a co-founder of Collaborative Kids, where he developed and co-led social skills classes for elementary- and middle-school aged children.  He is a graduate of University of Chicago Law School (J.D.), where he served on the Chicago Journal of International Law, and Northwestern University’s Masters of Education Program (M.S.Ed.).

This training is open to all Early Intervention Providers and Service Coordinators

There will be a free reflective practice session offered after the webinar for all IDTA Members ONLY. This will require a separate registration.
